Dear President Barack Obama, Governor Andrew Cuomo and All Members of the NYS Legislature and The United States Congress
The Teacher Evaluation System you have put in place has no place in education in the State of New York. It has nothing to do with evaluating teachers. Students and Teachers are MORE than a standardized test score and this plan is an awful way to evaluate what teachers do in the classroom. With YOUR plan, there's no more room for creativity in our classrooms. The plan you have created should never be put into place. Reconsider, before you plummet NYS Education and education in the United States into a place it should not be.
Why is this important?
Governor Andrew Cuomo of NYS has RAMMED through a new Teacher Evaluation plan that has nothing to do with educating our children. His bullying tactics have been nothing less than repulsive. This plan is ill-conceived and puts the future of education in NYS and the rest of the United States are at risk due to the way federal funding is now handled through Race to the Top....
