Repeal the AUMF--Endless War

Military actions have depleted our economy and taken the lives of our young people and involved the United States in international situations, often without considering non-military responses. We should return the right to authorize military force to the Congress as specified in Article 1, Section 6. We must cease engaging in "endless war" that deprives citizens of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, instead lining the pockets of military suppliers and mercenaries. Stop endless war now. Why is this important?

For both fiscal and ethical reasons, it is time Congress cancelled AUMF and reclaimed oversight of US military engagements. We should return to the Constitutional policy of allowing military action only when a formal Declaration of War is passed by Congress. Article 1, section 6 of the Constitution grants the right "to declare war" to Congress.
