Repeal the Second Amendment, and end the wanton slaughter by private citizens of private citizens and innocent children.
Why is this important?
Whereas the Second Amendment was crafted at a time when the U.S. had neither national standing army nor the States a national guard; whereas the frontier and wilderness conditions of 18th- and 19th-century America no longer apply; whereas the authors of the Bill of Rights and the Constitution had no concept of the types of 21st-century weaponry that is readily available to private citizens: it is long past time to repeal the Second Amendment.
