We the people of the United States believe in free speech and democracy. We have a representative government. In order to make certain that our representatives are beholden only to those they represent, we demand that any financial support for a political campaign be raised only from those eligible to vote for the candidate being donated to.
Why is this important?
As a first step in election finance reform, we need to ensure that our elected representatives actually represent the people that elect them. Therefore, any financial support should only come from people who can vote in the election for the office the person is running for.
