WE respectfully REMIND all members of congress OF what should be THEIR FIRST ALLEGIANCE that being to the flag of THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Since any other allegiance MAY prevent and/or, at least, obfuscate that FIRST allegiance, we ask all to RENOUNCE any and all, other ALLEGIANCES, including one to Grover Norquist and his INSISTENCE on THEIR NEVER VOTING TO INCREASE ANY TAX. Such a pledge may, under special and conceivable circumstances, even become treasonous.
Why is this important?
Most, if not all, Republicans HAVE PLEDGED ALLEGIANCE to GROVER NORQUIST (and his insistence on their ALWAYS voting against ANY new taxes). Such a pledge MAY under some circumstances supersede the allegiance to THE flag of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. An occasion may happen, for example, in time of war or another SPECIAL NATIONAL NEED that new taxes are not only important, but even necessary. The Republicans' NORQUIST pledge may interfere with national security.
