Request for IRP Public Hearing in Asheville
There is only one public hearing concerning the Duke/Progress Integrated Resources Plan, which is Feb 11 in Raleigh,NC. This plan will determine our energy future for the next 20 years. We request a hearing be held in Asheville to provide Western North Carolina citizens with an accessible public location to voice our concerns.
Why is this important?
The Integrative Resource Plans filed by utilities across North Carolina, continues increased production of dirty coal, dangerous gas and risky nuclear power. The 20 year plans DO NOT expand solar, wind, energy efficiency and energy conservation. We need a clean energy future and must have accessible public hearings in the western part of our state to voice our demands.
