Every day, political parties are backed by advertisers that sponsor adds containing either FALSE, or MISLEADING information, and they are never held accountable for it.
I don’t know how we can hold them accountable. Maybe someone else has some ideas.
Why not start a PUBLIC website called “Get the Facts”, where both the Republican and Democratic parties ‘false or misleading’ statements are published, and the OPPOSITE party has a chance to respond or reply, point by point, with referenced, supportable facts. Allow as many point/counterpoint entries as warranted, but require that EACH one reference a document that supports them.
Why is this important?
Why should politicians be continually allowed to make statements that are ENTIRELY false or MISLEADING, without any accountability for it ? In some instances in the U.S., such lying could result in a libel suit - but not with political campaigning.
