Members of Congress are choosing a health insurance plan for all of us. They already have one for themselves--and apparently, it's one of the best that money can buy, with low out-of-pocket costs, thanks to high government subsidies. We pay for those plans. So before they choose OUR insurance costs and coverage, shouldn't THEY be required to tell us about theirs?
Why is this important?
One of the many benefits of being a Member of Congress is that they can choose from among the very best insurance plans in the ACA, with extremely high government subsidies. They have 57 Gold Tier plans to choose from. They receive subsidies of 72 to 75 percent toward their premiums. And, among many other benefits, they also get FREE MEDICAL CARE on any military base in the world. But we don't know exactly how much our elected officials pay, out of pocket, for those insurance plans--nor do we know the extent of their coverage. Before they pick OUR coverage and out-of-pocket costs, shouldn't THEY be required to disclose theirs? SIGN THIS PETITION IF YOU AGREE.
