The coal and gas industries should be required to observe the same laws as the rest of us. They should be forced to abide by the Clean Water Act, before it's too late.
Why is this important?
Between the fracking of shale gas wells and mountain top removal, the gas and coal industries have been given a pass on the CWA (Clean Water Act).
We should require the gas and coal industries to observe the CWA. Why should they be able to do the very same things that would put you or me in prison?
Water will be the most valuable resource of the 21st century, and these industries our fouling our water in ways that will be permanent on a human scale.
