Required Insurance for Gun Owners
Every gun sold in the USA must have an insurance policy provided by the manufacturer for the lifetime of the gun. The manufacturer may transfer the policy to the gun purchaser. However, if the policy is not maintained the insurer must notify the manufacturer who then must pay the premiums until such time as the gun is located and the owner has reimbursed the manufacturer, returned the gun to the manufacturer and paid the insurance premiums for two years in advance.
The policy must cover the full cost of the funeral expenses for anyone who is killed by the gun with the exception of provable self-defense. The insurance is also required to cover 100% of all medical, dental, vision, mental health and ancillary costs such as home modifications, vehicle modifications, wage replacement with interest for the life of the injury be it physical or mental. The insurer may not designate who can provide any services but may negotiate with the victims preferred provider of services.
The policy also must cover counseling for family members of the victim or those who were present during the shooting but not injured.

Why is this important?
People are incurring high dollar expenses because of irresponsible gun owners and legislation.
