Resignation of Elnardo Webster,General Counsel of Newark Watershed (NWCDC)

Mr. Webster has stated that he will spend TAX PAYORS monies to sue the Newark Municpal Council for doing its job as it relates to inquries into the business practices of (NWCDC). He also stated that the Executive Director, Linda Bashear who makes nearly 200,000 a year, will not address the Council to answer any futher questions. Newark residents question, if Mr. Webster has nothing to hide why would he spend monies to litigate. Mr. Webster also works for Trent DIPasuale, a law firm that over the course of four years has billed the (NWCDC) OVER A MILLION DOLLARS. An indepdent investigation conducted by members of the Newark Water Group a nonpartisan organization dedicated to keeping Newark's water in public hands, and has reported that the NWCDC has gone from spending 6million a year to 10 million, with almost all of the increases going to consultants, salaries and fringe benefits. In response to these findings, we are calling for the immediate resignation of Mr. Webster and the dire need for reform or to replace the organization as a whole.
