WHEREAS:
- America needs honest elections, accountable legislatures and judges.
- Elections will be more honest when private money is banned from elections, leveling the playing field.
- Only wealthy candidates and candidates backed by the wealthy have successful election campaigns. Except few lucky candidate's opponent commits a serious faux pas.
- Wisconsin's Supreme Court may rule on a campaign finance issue where four judges were backed by $2.6 million from organizations involved in the case.
- Most democratic civilized countries limit election campaigns to six weeks.
THEREFORE RESOLVED: Legislation is needed for mandatory public financing of all elections and limiting campaigns to six weeks.
Why is this important?
We all suffer because America's election system is not transparent and neutral for any candidate.
