Restore the Voting Rights Act

Last year's Supreme Court decision weakened critical provisions of the Voting Rights Act (VRA), eliminating important protections for voters across the country. But a new bill in Congress can fix the VRA and restore these protections.

Improving and passing this bill won't be easy. Already, critics on the right are gearing up to try to kill it, and Speaker John Boehner has yet to commit to bringing it up for a vote. Despite the fact that the bill is bipartisan, it's not guaranteed to pass.

Why is this important?

Ohio needs to be held accountable for making sure that all voters have an opportunity to vote. Already early voting is being restricted to normal working hours, making it more difficult for workers to vote.
