We ask Gov. Scott and the Florida Legislature to restore early voting and, in fact, to expand it for subsequent election cycles. We also ask that the Legislature not clutter the ballot with confusingly worded Constitutional Amendments that could instead be laws passed by the Legislature. Hours long lines and excessive confusion are no way to run an election.
Why is this important?
This year, due to changes initiated by Gov. Scott and rubberstamped by the legislature, early voting was curtailed throughout the state, leading to long lines and excessive confusion. This petition asks that early voting be restored and that all efforts being made to ensure that voting is as easy and uncomplicated as possible.
