The Michigan public employee retirement system should adopt the Affordable Care Act for all retirees and their families.
Why is this important?
Here in Michigan, if you are a retiree in the public school or other public service jobs, the fund for health care has chosen to not accept the terms of the Affordable Care Act aka Obamacare. This means our adult children cannot be insured up to age 26 unless they are full time students and are claimed on our Federal Tax 1040's.
I want the retiree system to adopt the Affordable Care Act. If it is fair for Americans, it should be fair for all of us public employees also.
