Return to Civility & Reason

Villas at Hunton Park Board, please stop unreasonable enforcement of pool and other community "rules" that do not threaten the health and safety of residents, homes, grounds, or facilities, or enjoyment of the community amenities.

Why is this important?

Residents of the Villas at Hunton Park appreciate that rules and regulations help maintain the safety and beauty of the community. But, we're calling for a restoration of civility and reason in the enforcement of rules that are not codified by the Villas bylaws or County, State, or Federal law. Multiple families have been asked to cease throwing a small ball in the pool because it breaks the no "ball play" rule. The lifeguard has been asked to focus on strict enforcement of rules--even when safety is not a concern. Residents are being reported to the Board for all infractions--even if they are alone in the pool and not causing harm. Pool rules and conduct of the lifeguard should be focused on protecting the health and safety of residents, allowing broad enjoyment of the facility, and protecting the facility from damage. We ask the Board to urgently implement reasonable enforcement of current rules and cease threatening residents for offenses that do not cause harm. Right now it is the overly strict enforcement of pool rules rather than breaking of said pool rules that is causing discord within the community. VHP Board, please take immediate action to restore normalcy to pool use oversight and cease punitive actions against residents enjoying the pool and pool area in ways that do not adversely affect others.
