#revandrec

We want Wattpad to give regular writing and non-writing content creators the opportunity to earn money on the app on a similar level to Youtube based on a certain amount of views (different than paid stories with the ads), better regulation of reports and functions, make new developments on the app such as likes/votes on message boards to engage audiences, custom folders/categories in the library, better promotional aspects on the news feed. Another app feature we would like to see would be book clubs maybe in the form of group chats as well as badges on profiles (ex. most frequent commentator). We also would like to see less exclusion regarding race, gender and even book genre. It is important that everybody gets a chance of recognition, there are so many talented writers with barely the same amount of views as books from verified and/or paid story authors with 100K+ views. Wattpad is not progressing the way it should or helping its writers like they’re saying they are.

Why is this important?

We’ve been keeping this app running since its release, so many users have left from the lack of interest, from being unfairly treated by other users and Wattpad itself, books taken down without explanation, lack of exposure of different book genres and mostly the lack of process and unnecessary app developments. This petition wants to ensure that Content Creators get the chance to receive recognition for their art whether it's writing or graphic design. We also want to promote inclusivity on the message boards with better interactions. Books tend to get lost in libraries so being able to drag them to folders would be helpful in organization and reading. We’d like to see more resources compiled, opportunities to collaborate with companies outside the app no matter the skill. All of this will certainly bring enjoyment to present users and attract more audiences to the app as well. We hope that you’ll join us this journey to revamp wattpad and get you where you want to be. There are more people with unfulfilled dreams then there are with fulfilled ones. We want to change that. — Jayla and Jada
