We the undersigned support HJR Res 119 which calls for a constitutional amendment which will allow limits on campaign donations and spending. We urge that it be amended to include language indicating that corporations do not have the same inherent constitutional rights as natural persons.
Why is this important?
There is finally movement in the US Congress in getting a constitutional amendment to allow government to control campaign donations and spending. The bill is HJR Res 119.
A companion to the amendment which will soon be voted on by the full US Senate was introduced in the US House of Representatives. The House amendment bill has more than 110 co-sponsors.
Florida’s Senator Bill Nelson became the 48th senator to formally support the amendment. With three more senators, we’ll have a majority of the U.S. Senate behind the amendment.
The bill requires a 2/3 majority of both houses so It is critical that the public show support and keep the momentum going. Please sign the petition and share with your friends.
