Discontinue the educational policy that all public HS students, in NYS, must complete the same educational sequences in the four major disciplines. Instead, allow parents and their children the right to customize course selections reinforcing their child's educational career goals. For example: Music and Arts in lieu of Math and Science.
Why is this important?
Don't victimize young people by forcing them into areas of study that do not reinforce their educational/career goals. What of the students whose ambitions are being hampered by forced course work in disciplines not related to their educational/career goals? Where is the return on their family's educational investment from public school taxes?
