Salvation Army: Stop turning away the trans community!

A Salvation Army Housing Assistance program in Dallas, Texas recently refused to house a homeless women because she was transgender.

Legal protections for trans people are not made explicit in many state non-discrimination laws, so it's up to non-profit organizations to pick up the slack. Tell the Salvation Army to stop banning homeless trans men and women!

Why is this important?

Nearly 20 percent of trans people have experienced homelessness at some point in their lives - compared to 1% for the general population - thanks in part to systematic discrimination against trans people in the economic and housing sectors.
