San Leandro Climate Emergency Resolution
We demand Mayor Cutter declare a citywide climate emergency for the future of the planet and the City of San Leandro. City Hall needs a wakeup call to the crisis that lies before us!
Why is this important?
San Leandro has felt the impacts of climate change firsthand, including drought, pollution, and rising ocean waters, and if no mitigating action is taken within the next decade our future will be in jeopardy. Fight with us to demand Mayor Cutter take the following bold, immediate actions:
(1) Update the City’s Climate Action Plan without further delay and begin implementation immediately;
(2) Join the rapidly emerging regional mobilization for a just transition to a sustainable economy, and;
(3) Acknowledge the urgency of the climate crisis by issuing a formal declaration of a citywide climate emergency. Declare a citywide emergency to protect our environment.
