County reports have called for an end to this human suffering and wasteful spending since 2009. Yet, there has been no reduction in unjust incarceration for people with mental health disorders who are no threat to public safety.
Why is this important?
We want the County of Santa Barbara to build enough residential treatment facilites with diverse services to eliminate the need for unjust incarceration for an estimated 150 persons in jail daily who have mental health disorders.
Relocate these persons into residential treatment facilities!
Save the County $3 Million per year spend on jail costs!
