Please immediately pass a resolution suspending the "sister-city" relationship between the City of Sarasota and Vladimir, Russia. We can and must send a strong and clear message: We value and cherish our lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender residents and will not tolerate discrimination and violence against our LGBT brothers and sisters by a sister city.

Why is this important?

Sarasota must send a clear message that discrimination and violence against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) citizens of Vladimir, Russia is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
