We are proposing that Halloween always be the last Saturday of October. That way kids don't have to get up for school the next day and parents have time to get children ready for trick or treating.
Why is this important?
I am a teacher of 30 years, who has seen the effects of staying up late and eating too much candy the night before. Many students come to school either wired on sugar or sometimes even absent due to staying up late on Halloween. Also, many working parents have difficulty getting home from work in time to get their children ready for the Trick or Treating hours.
