Please sign this petition so that we might have our voice heard by Seattle Parks Department in the matter of the Alki Fish and Crab Company lease. If you've ever enjoyed an ice cream cone on a hot afternoon, a hot cup of coffee or coco on a cold morning or after plunging into chilly Puget Sound for a scuba dive with the Giant Pacific Octopus, gotten your certification card over some great fish and chips after your dive class, had lunch with your family whilst enjoying the view, enjoyed a nightcap at the new "Dive Bar" or even just stopped in to surf the web on their free wifi... this petition is for you!!!!!!
Why is this important?
Seattle Parks and Recreation has decided to give the lease of what is currently Alki Fish and Crab Company and Alki Kayak Tours and Adventure Center to an "undisclosed recipient'. <edit: the recipient of the lease is Marination>
This simply won't do! Eric Galanti has been there for us with great food, hot chocolate, ice cream, and even just this year the new "Dive Bar" (since its one of the most popular scuba diving sites in the Seattle Metropolitan area..
Yvonne and the other owners of the business were very helpful and supportive in the placing of an AED for shoreline & diving emergencies in memory of a diver who passed away a couple years ago. (a project spearheaded by local diver Doug Marcoux and his dive buddies)
We have printed a paper copy of the petition and dropped it off at the register at Alki Crab and Fish Co. There will be blank pages for signatures for folks who don't want to sign online petition.
We can't let this place be shut down!
