Save California Public Education System - Say No To Cuts

The current budget proposal depends on revenue generated from a not-yet-passed November initiative -- but even Kindergartners know the school year starts months before that. Our schools can’t pay for teachers and programs with money they don’t have and might never get. WE demand that the legislature do their job and create a balanced budget with no cuts to education.

Why is this important?

Did you know California educates 1 in 8 children in the USA? That is 6.2 million children. The California public school system has had 18 billion dollars cut in the last 3 years and more cuts are proposed for next year. This once golden state ranks 47Th in the USA in per pupil spending, 50Th in teacher to student ratio, 50Th in librarian to student ratio. The list goes on. The Californian legislatures has a chance to fund education NOW. We are calling all Californians to stand for students, teachers and education to stop the legislators from "Blowing It". California's economic recovery depends on an educated work force. WE need to invest in public education.
