Save Health Care for our most vulnerable Minnesotans
People in rural Minnesota and all over our state are terrified of the proposed Trumpcare (AHCA) bill, and they should be. Please don't cut $830 (and some) billion from Medicaid—to pay for a $900 billion tax cut. The richest people in the country are jeopardizing protections for preexisting conditions. We oppose the Republicans' bill, as it would be detrimental to kids with disabilities (even autism) and the elderly.
Why is this important?
My son has autism and uses Medicaid (through the program Medical Assistance in Minnesota) for his treatments for this social and communication disorder. So many kids like him need occupational, speech, and physical therapies, in school and in clinics.
Cutting Medicaid will leave so many professionals unemployed, and cause big, long-term problems for our state and our nation if autism goes untreated. Families depend on Personal Care Assistants for in home supports and behavior interventions, and these programs will not be funded with the proposed cuts.
