Save our Children from Drug ABuse
This petition gives the power back to parents. This petition allows the parent of a drug abuser to be able to remove their rights and force them into a restricted rehab for an extended period of time where they cannot leave until the term and conditions are satisfied. This petition also asks that no misdemeanor or felony charges be brought against the invididual so that they can have the opportunity to rebuild their lives and become productive members of society once again.
Why is this important?
Several children of family members and friends have been afflicted with drug abuse. They started as early as high school and by the time parents found out they were over 18. Current laws do not allow parents to force their children into rehab or to force them to get any kind of help. Parents are completely helpless and no authority or law exists to address this problem. Authorities get involved only if the individual commits a crime. As everyone knows, once a person uses drugs, they lose all sensibility and the ability to think logically. So, it is literally impossible for them to get to a point where they want to or are willing to get help. So, this becomes a completely helpless situation. The afflicted individual will not seek help and the parents have no legal means to force their child to get help. Parents are often left standing by helplessly to see their children distroy their life or die.
