Save Post Offices across America
It is well known that 'the battle over the post office is about something even more than costs versus service or cold business sense versus heart and soul. The battle is about who will control the means of communication — the corporations that have been “partnering” with the Postal Service and seek to privatize it, or the citizens of this country for whom the post office is not 'a business' but one of the bedrocks of democracy." I use the post office and my community does too. It keeps the community together and helps out millions of businesses--especially small ones--across the land. Stop the proposed cuts to the 10,000 to 12,000 post offices as is the proposal of US government official today."
Why is this important?
Some 10,000 U.S. Postal Service stations and locations are on the chopping block. The lifeline of small communities to the rest of the world will soon be available only by greatest distances or only on the internet or dependent on media giants for communication and local deliveries. Already, the postal system is not as good as it was in our childhood. Please save it. After all, the written & printed word is important., too.
