Since Congress and the Senate are monitored by themselves, they continue to give themselves raises and more benefits, and then take vacations whenever they choose. This needs to stop. Checks and balances are what helped make America great, and the lack of them are what is ruining us.
Why is this important?
If Senators and Congressmen/women had to pay for their own health insurance and had their incomes cut when they retire, they may not be so quick to try saving our economy on the backs of the elderly, poor and sick.
