Save the Fort Hunt Safeway

The community does not support the proposal to tear down the existing Fort Hunt Safeway, located in Fairfax County, Virginia, and rebuilt it as a larger Safeway store with underground parking. The community does not wish to be put through the hardships that would ensue with such a large scale project in our neighborhood. The community cannot support a larger store and prefers the convenience of the store in its current configuration.

Why is this important?

It has been reported in the Mount Vernon Patch that Safeway plans to tear down the 19,947-square-foot store at Fort Hunt Road and build a new 51,000-square-foot store with underground parking and outdoor seating available.
