Save the Indoor Playground at SOICDC!

Picture of the Train Room from the SOICDC website https://firststepslearningcenters.com/locations/state-of-illinois-child-development-center/
State of Illinois Childcare Development Center has removed the indoor playground area for our children. SOICDC wants to add another classroom for 25 more students but there are other ways to fundraise than to eliminate a necessity for our children’s well being.

We want SOICDC to reinstate the indoor play area that we lovingly refer to as the Train Room. Children shouldn’t be confined to the classroom all day every time there is rain, snow, or air quality alerts that prevents them outdoor play.

The indoor gross motor skills/unstructured play area is integral for child development.

Concerned parents, caretakers and advocates can call Tifany Seals at 312-814-4782
and ask the State of Illinois Child Development Center to ensure access to safe exploration of gross motor skills in an unstructured environment.

Why is this important?

Chicago has inclement weather more often than not. We care about the quality of life for our little ones and do not want to remove this space that is so needed for their physical, emotional and social wellness. Many of us chose State of Illinois Childcare Development Center Development Center because of the high standards in quality care. Removing the indoor playground also puts a strain on our beloved teachers.

Help us send a message that we want to find a solution that benefits the SOICDC, the teachers and the children. We care deeply about our community and about the long-term success of SOICDC.
