Save the Slide!
There is a Safety and a liability issue to keep the rocket slide in Durant Oklahoma so the solution that they are wanting is to close it up and take the slide away. The Rocket Slide has been there for over 60 years. This is part of History. We could either leave it alone and allow parents to be responsible for their own children or put a fence up to where no one is allowed to be on it. It does not have to be taken down or altered.
Why is this important?
This is important because change is good but sometimes certain things need to be left alone and this rocket slide is one. I did not grow up in one home. I moved all over Durant and the rocket park and the rocket slide has always been there. I live in Michigan now and I still bring my kids home to see and play on it. There is a safety concern, So the people that are scared of it do not have to bring their children to play on it. Put a fence or plastic wall around it so that no one can be on it. Do NOT take the slide down.
