#SaveAbdullah: Elshamy May Still Be Alive!

Al Jazeera journalist Abdullah Elshamy was arrested while on assignment at the Muslim Brotherhood protest camp and held indefinitely by Egyptian authorities, who refused to bring real charges against him.

He launched a hunger strike in protest, putting his life on the line while exposing the corruption of the local government and its treatment of prisoners. When lawyers and doctors demanded he be moved to a hospital, Abdullah disappeared from his cell — and now prison authorities are denying he was ever under their care.

We demand Egyptian authorities tell the truth about what they've done to him, where he is, and bring him to a hospital now!

Why is this important?

Al Jazeera journalist Abdullah Elshamy has disappeared from his prison cell in Cairo after launching a hunger strike against his indefinite detention.
