Say No to Fracking In Florida

Whereas: Fracking has used more than 250 Billion gallons of water and marred more than 360,000 acres of land since 2005.
Whereas: Fracking has been granted exemption from the Safe Water Drinking Act.
Whereas : The Energy Industry has been exempt from disclosing all chemicals used in the fracturing fluid so that the public and governing agencies here can better ascertain the potential for contamination of Florida’s ground water and aquifer, risks to its air quality, the potential migration of gases and hydraulic fracturing chemicals to its surface, the potential for mishandling of waste, the effects on Florida’s wildlife and the health effects of this on our population,
Whereas: Florida’s Tourist and Sports Industries depend on the abundance of clean water, clean air and a clean environment
We the undersigned Voters and Residents of Florida are opposed to Fracking in the State of Florida and hereby ask you to reject permit applications from the Dan Hughes Company and other oil and gas companies to frack in the State of Florida.
Signing cutoff date for the hearing is March 7th.

Why is this important?

We need to preserve Florida's Environment and protect its natural resources and water supplies for future Floridians to enjoy.
