To: Loudoun County Board of Supervisors
Say No to the North South Corridor
We the undersigned appeal to the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors to reconsider its support of the North South corridor (BiCounty Parkway) and urge the Board to reverse its decision to support this unneeded and unwanted highway which will only increase traffic and congestion on our existing roads.
Rather than solve traffic problems, this North South corridor road will spark higher levels of residential development within the Prince William Rural Crescent and the Loudoun Rural Transition Area, adding more traffic to already congested east-west commuter routes.
Rather than solve traffic problems, this North South corridor road will spark higher levels of residential development within the Prince William Rural Crescent and the Loudoun Rural Transition Area, adding more traffic to already congested east-west commuter routes.
Why is this important?
The proposed North South corridor highway does not address the existing east - west traffic problems and instead will result in increased traffic and carbon emissions on currently over congested roads, particularly by dumping traffic on Route 7.
The County needs "smart" growth and appropriate infrastructure that will address existing commuter problems and which will support the upcoming expansion of metro to Ashburn. Loudoun County does not need this highway nor the development it will bring to both Loudoun County and Prince William County.
