Please realize the extreme negative impacts on Vermont's natural resources that we value so highly and support this petition to stop the Tar Sands Pipeline.
Why is this important?
The proposal to build the Tar Sands Pipeline through Vermont From Canada is not in the best interest of Vermont. It will cause much destruction of natural areas with the potential of so much more, as well as affecting our drinking water.
How can we even consider this project based on the reasons that we, Vermont, just banned fracking in our state. To a great degree this proposed project will affect us in the same way. We are promoting the practice in other countries / states if we agree to this project. So we ban fracking in our state and then we allow them to pipe what is being fracked in other states / countries through our state?
