Four North Carolina Supreme Court Judges just ruled that public tax dollars can be used to pay for private schools. I ask that North Carolina taxpayers have a right to have the option written into law to be able to check off a box stating if they want their property tax dollars to go to public schools or private schools when submitting a payment on property taxes.
Why is this important?
Our public schools are already suffering from shortage of funds to provide the best education for our children.
I don't feel it's very democratic for a few law makers to impose a decision on our tax dollars.
The public has a right to have an option on how our hard-earned money is used.
