Precedence has long been set that when a leader acts in ways uniquely unprecedented in history, new words are added to the English language to reflect that behavior. Consider, for example, the Oedipus Complex, the Napoleon Complex, and the word quisling. The word quisling (meaning apostate, backstabber, betrayer, double-crosser, double-dealer, Judas, recreant, serpent, snake, traitor) was added during WWII, to commemorate the actions of Vidkun Quisling, a Norwegian army officer who in 1933 founded Norway's fascist party. In December 1939, he met with Adolf Hitler and urged him to occupy Norway. Following the German invasion of April 1940, Quisling served as a figurehead in the puppet government set up by the German occupation forces, and his linguistic fate was sealed. Before the end of 1940, "quisling" was being used generically in English to refer to any traitor. Winston Churchill, George Orwell, and H. G. Wells used it in their wartime writings. Quisling lived to see his name thus immortalized, but not much longer. He was executed for treason soon after the liberation of Norway in 1945. (Source: Merriam-Webster Dictionary). Entrumped (verb): the act of a country’s leader ordering his troops to turn their backs on an ally despite military advice and honor. Usage: After years of working alongside their American allies to defeat a common enemy, the Kurdish people along with their American allies were entrumped. Trumpish (adjective): (1) Describes any lie, or extreme exaggeration, presented as the truth. (2) Describes the act of disseminating or promoting trumpish behavior. Usage: This blog post feels trumpish to me. His arguments are trumpish. I am tired of all the trumpishness. Furthermore, the signatories below commit to using these new words, which will for all time commemorate President Trump, in their daily conversations and in their social media comments, #entrumped, #trumpish.

"New Beginning Animal Rescue" (NBAR), a no-kill shelter, will be forced to close it's doors due to lack of funding. This shelter has been scraping by with small donations and volunteers from the Bronx Community since 2010 without any city funding. However due to higher rent and veterinary costs, NBAR is literally on it's last leg. The sad realitiy is that most of their resident cats and dogs will be end up in Animal Care and Control and will killed them if this shelter closed. NBAR has opened its doors to school groups and youths at risk. These children and shelter animals comfort and learn from each other. Members of Congress, you have within your power to fund a new federal agency that does more for this country than almost any other agency. We the people propose the funding of a new federal agency called Homeland Home Builders which serves to reduce the homeless population down to zero percent by acquiring properties in unused areas, selection and training of able-bodied individuals from the homeless community and elsewhere in the field of construction and construction management, the organization of food development for these suffering communities via farm grants and jobs in agriculture, the development of an alternative currency to be used within these communities such that they are able to become self sufficient and not require increasing subsidies from the government, development of student grants and technology incentives to further enhance the cooperation between existing industries and these prototype communities, plans to limit taxation and build opportunities for the mentally ill and disabled which also take up a certain percentage of the homeless. Congressmen and congresswomen, we need your support to solve this problem. It has never been so hard to survive as it is today for the people who are in desperate need of help. US Citizens who have been displaced by automation, unnecessary burdens and bad luck have no method of getting off the streets without our help. Leaving this task to the private business and non-profit sector is not working and the problem will continue to get worse before it gets better. Renovate and repave East 38th Street to build and make the community safer.

A thoughtful, balanced, well-vetted design plan for the renovation/addition of Cabot School has been developed through an open, collaborative process. This design meets the state’s educational requirements, offers new opportunities for shared community use of the school’s resources, preserves the original building structure, and limits the impact of the new addition on the abutting neighbors. The design was approved by the Cabot School Building Committee (CSBC) on April 5, 2016. We urge the Building Project Team and the Newton City Council to vote in support of this fully developed, approved schematic design and move it forward through the next phase of the approval process for its submission to the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA). Delays to reconsider old design options would incur significant expense but offer no substantial benefit to the community.
