Universal breakfast and universal lunch are needed in U.S. schools. Currently 1 out of every 5 children in the United States faces hunger. The undersigned demand that child nutrition programs in U.S. schools be expanded to provide universal breakfast and universal lunch for all school children. Every child in every school should eat every day--no questions, no stigma, no accounts, and no separate meal lines for children from low-income households.

Enforce the Hatch Act, especially for the blatant violations by the Trump Administration during the reelection campaign and RNC convention. ​The penalty structure for violations of the Hatch Act by federal employees includes removal from federal service, reduction in grade, debarment from federal employment for a period not to exceed 5 years, suspension, reprimand, or a civil penalty not to exceed $1,000. The blatant and egregious violations by many in the Trump administration warrant removal from office and maximum fines.

Now that SCOTUS has vacated Section 4 of the Voting Rights Act, Section 5 is - for all intents and purposes -- toothless. The only hope of restoring fairness and integrity to voting rights is for Congress to draw up a new map to ensure access and decency for all Americans. It's in everyone's interests, and clearly in the best interest of our democracy. It won't be easy, but without pressure it doesn't stand a chance. Now is the time to apply that pressure, and not let up.

Step 1 is to permanently lower student loan interest rates to between 1 - 3% for all borrowers (including those who took out loans before the Obama Administration). Step 2 is to provide a 5 year moratorium on paying back student loans (without collecting further interest). This will give our generation time to gain real work experience and move us back into the middle class.
