Please join me in asking for something long long overdue, the removal and subsequent ban of Fox News and it’s affiliates on all U.S military bases and and Federal buildings. This is imperative to the mental health of not only our armed forces members and Federal employees but to the whole of our country

The news media has a financial incentive to ensure these mass shootings continue. Each time this happens, the news media rake in profits in the form of increased revenue from TV ads and internet clicks during the coverage of tragedy. Would someone do this if they knew they didn't have the power to captivate the entire country and world with their actions? The answer is simple. No. This petition doesn't ask for legislation. It asks for self-imposed decency. It asks news media executives to do one of two things: 1. At the minimum, establish a policy to eliminate the possibility that the killer will be glorified (No repeating, or possibly mentioning, of the murderer's name. Never, even once, post the murderer's picture.) Or 2. Establish your own blackout of coverage of these events. Our children are waiting on you to act. There is no time for delay. In the 72 hours since it was announced that President Biden was stepping down from the presidential campaign and Kamala Harris emerged as the new prospective Democratic nominee, irresponsible journalism touting racist and sexist dog whistles have already been published. We don't have to repeat the tired tropes and offensive attacks being wielded against Harris. We've heard them all before. When Harris was selected as vice president on Biden's presidential ticket, 61% of news coverage mentioned her race or gender, and 25% of the coverage included sexist or racist stereotyping. It's unacceptable. We can't let history repeat itself. It's time to rein in the media and demand fair and unbiased reporting, because we know that  as Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans lose their grip on power, the attacks against Kamala are only going to get worse. We must come together to condemn and call out the racism, misogynoir, and sexism that the media and MAGA Republicans have thrown and will continue to throw Harris’s way to appeal to their base. Will you sign the petition to put news media on notice by demanding that they address the racism and sexism in election reporting NOW?

We petition Governor Hassan to rescind her nomination of Gerald Little, long time banking lobbyist and Executive Director of the New Hampshire Bankers Association, to the position New Hampshire Banking Commissioner. We urge her to seek a qualified individual who will not be compromised by years of aggressive defense and support for an industry that he or she would be called upon to regulate. Let voters know all of their options in the US Presidential race. Include third party candidates in your coverage, interviews, and polls.
