THE HOMELESS HEROES are an answer to eradicating the abuse that homeless families endure from the NYC DHS and AFIC shelter system. For Example: AFIC told a Mother, her husband and their 23 year old son that they (the family) must live in the streets for six (6) months to prove that they are a family unit in order to return back to the shelter system. They allow the city to pay over $2,300 per month per adult family to live in these shelters but won't pay for an apartment. I'm just saying...

I have not seen my Grandson in a year and a half since my Son passed away August 20th 2011, why I have no Idea, But Bill S 789 need to be brought up and soon, I want to go Trenton and Speak on my Grandson and my Son's behalf, My grandson was only 4 weeks old when my son passed, the family and the Mom will not give me a reason and I get no response from, them, Grandparents Visitation laws need to be changed in the State of New Jersey, this Bill was supposed to be acted upon in 2012, and I was supposed to be notified so I can appear, if it passes I would like it to become GK"S LAW after my son. My grandson will be two July 17th , I have not seen him since August 20th 2011, I went to court and my case was dismissed, because I had to prove that it is harmful to my Grandson because he could not see me, the judge dismissed my case because the baby was only four weeks old These laws need to be changed.

The New York Times should inform its readers by always reporting budget numbers with percentages or comparisons--"food stamps will cost 1.8% of total spending" or "food stamps will cost 11% of what we spend on the military." Reporting big numbers with no context only confuses readers.

As leaders in our community, youth in arts education, future voters and future members of the city’s workforce, we urge the de Blasio administration, Comptroller Stringer, Carmen Fariña, the City Council and other city leaders to create a youth board to ensure the $20 million arts education funds are distributed to the schools and programs in communities that need and demand arts education.
