  • SBA: Change the Rules for 2nd Round Self-Employed PPP Loans - Make the New Rules Retroactive
Now that the House has passed an extension to the PPP loan program, the Senate needs add an amendment to the legislation to correct a flaw in the rule change for self employed applicants who can now use their gross income instead of their net income to determine their final loan amount. The fact that the SBA has said that this rule change is not retroactive is affecting tens of thousands of self-employed people whose only mistake was to apply and receive their 2nd round of PPP money before the rule change.

  • Tell New Owner of Taylor Pork Roll: Workers at Taylor Provisions Deserve a Fair Contract Now!
The classic New Jersey breakfast staple "Taylor Pork Roll" has been made by dedicated UFCW members at Taylor Provisions for more than 50 years. These workers have shared in the company’s success, allowing many long-term workers to support their families for decades. Their contract has been earned through hard work and dedication, building Taylor Pork Roll into the iconic, beloved New Jersey food. Historically, Taylor Provisions has always had a legacy of prioritizing its union workforce during contract negotiations. BUT NOW THAT LEGACY IS UNDER ATTACK! Taylor Provisions remains very profitable, but new owner Ana Cumbler is attempting to dismantle everything these workers have earned. As the new sole owner, she sees the Taylor Provisions' union contract as a cost that should be cut so she can extract more profits for herself! This despicable approach to contract negotiations completely undermines everything her late husband’s family established. Ana Cumbler: It’s time to get real. These workers have dedicated their working careers to YOUR business. Come to the bargaining table in good faith to negotiate an equitable contract that preserves what these hard workers have earned!

  • Stop the New York State Workers' Comp Board from slashing worker protections and injury payments
We demand that the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board withdraw drastic proposals to: slash arm, leg and common injury payments; make company doctors mandatory and bestow them with the authority to deny workers' comp to an injured worker who needs it; and illegally override vital democratic checks and balances with the legislature. The Board must focus on strengthening the workers' comp system in New York at a time when workers need it most.

  • ASIAN LIVES MATTER! Make New Permanent Amendment Protecting Asians and Pacific Islanders from Abr...
The current Trump Presidency and Republican Congress in power is the most racist administration in the history of the United States, and Asians and Pacific Islanders from abroad and in America - including those born native to America - are under attack. Also, Trump's idiotic and insulting remarks to the people of China, North Korea and Japan have caused the United States to reach a new low in its position as a world power, recalling such jingoistic, xenophobic horrors as the internment of Japanese citizens in World War II, the Nazi Practices of Hitler in Germany, etc. THIS WILL NOT STAND. We must show more support for any and all Asians - whether from abroad or here in our American nation. We must make a new and permanent Amendment in the Constitution that allows for state and federal laws that properly safeguard and empower the position, civil rights and recognition of Asians everywhere, including tourists, newly appointed citizens and American-born Asians of all backgrounds. Furthermore, this Amendment must not allow for any and all police brutality, use of free speech for racist international remarks, and ill treatment of otherwise unspecified nature, against Asians domestically or internationally. This Amendment must also allow for the administration of proper justice methods to those who have committed anti-Asian crimes against Asian people, along with proper sentences including penalties, fines and even jail sentences to those who rob, rape, seriously injure and even kill Asians from abroad or in America, regardless of the assailants' wealth, rank or social position.

  • Call Center Bill
Dear Governor Cuomo, I am appealing to your good judgement by trying to save jobs in New York State. Verizon and many other large corporations are trying to eliminate jobs in New York State by moving call centers out of our state and out of the country. This work impacts repair call, installation calls, technical support, testing, as well as emergency services. We have lost thousands of job through this process and the the quality of service has diminished year after year. As a native New Yorker the attitude of these major corporations must change. Our family members are becoming unemployed at a rapid rate while the CEO's and their cronies line their pockets with gold.Write Governor Cuomo and tell him it is imperative we preserve New York jobs and that New York customers have the privilege of having the phones answered by a fellow New Yorker
