Effective immediately, the Congress should enact 25% across-the-board pay and benefits costs for themselves, their staff and travel, and all supporting resources in both chambers, for their collective failure to accomplish so little that was important--no passed annual 2011 budget; no grand bargain to make substantial forward progress on deficit reduction; the failure of the "Super Committee" to reach any accord on how to pay for added deficit reductions; failure to extend the payroll tax cut for another year; and failure by the Senate to approve so many executive appointments, causing significant parts of the Executive Branch to have to run without adequate leadership.

We are filing a petition with the village of Fort Edward to establish “Sally’s Trail” as an official designated trail. The trail runs along the west side of the canal from East Street to Argyle Street (Route 197). This will enable us to obtain a permit from Canal Corp. to keep the area a natural trail for public use. The trail has been maintained by Canal Corp. for 20-25 years. “Sally’s Trail” lies along the Champlain Canal Corridor that is on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. On June 4, 2022, this NYS Canalway water trail was designated in Washington D.C. as part of the National Trail System.

My name is Claudia Palomino I am disappointed in the health care staff at banner university hospital in Phoenix Az and can not believe how they treat Mexicans . My fiance Amado Alvarado had a brain aneurysm,stroke he is in need of 24 hr care it's been 3 weeks since he was admitted to the hospital he responds some times and I believe the hospital does not care for anyone if they are not insured he is about to be discharged home or if I can't take care of him the social worker said the other option would be send him back to Mexico. I work a job that pays me 14 dollars an hour . I can't care for him and they are not helping me his care will cost $2000 a month plus I would have to care for him 24 hrs a day . I've tried to find any kind of help but have not been lucky . I received a bill from the hospital and he is under outpatient care. The hospital don't care if he dies they just want to get rid of him. That hospital is the worse how can they just not care . Please help me get Amados story he has been in the US for more than 20 years he has never been in trouble with the law and he works and pays taxes he desires proper care . Let's take action for him and anyone going through the same for not being insured.....

All Insurers selling policies on the NYS Insurance Exchange should be required to offer plans (at every "metal" level) which include Out-of-Network (OON) benefits (at 80% UCR based on Fair Health Database) with a cap on out-of-pocket OON expenses. They should also be mandated to cover nationally recognized Centers of Excellence and health care providers caring for patients at these centers on an in-network basis, at least in the cases of life-threatening conditions/procedures like cancer, transplants, etc. This should be true even if these centers are out of the plan's usual geographic region, including out of state.

We count on legislators and policy makers in all levels of government to protect the common well being. Please make sure you protect the entire community's right to use the internet equally, no big interests gaining control over it.

Last year the minimum wage increase was killed in conference committee, because of dithering over the tip credit, and our people had to wait another year. Please don't let that happen again! We want 10.10, over 3 years, and we want the house version of the tip credit (we think it protects low income workers).

"Skid Row Cooling Resources" began Fall of 2020 as a grassroots planning and advocacy effort in response to a brutal September heatwave to make sure resources like hydration and shade were provided at the street level following the summer in Skid Row. A March 31, 2021 Request for Support was well received in LA City Hall and (4) "Cooling Stations" with canopies arrived on the streets in July 2021 and remained through the start of October 2021. Each cooling station consisted of two pop-up tent canopies: one of which was the "Misting Tent" with chairs to sit in the shade, and the other had a "Water Bar" which provided cups of filtered water with ice as well as other cold snacks, and each station was managed 24/7 by Urban Alchemy workers. As a Pilot Program, these cooling stations were massively successful - especially the location on 6th & San Pedro St. Unfortunately, the funding for the following year was cut in half so the number of cooling stations for Summer 2022 was dropped to (2) locations, and the program was renamed "Climate Centers." The location at 6th & San Pedro was one of the locations cut even though the metrics showed it had served the largest number of people the year before. Advocacy efforts to get back to the original (4) locations began in early 2023. A CAO Report from the City Administrative Officer dated May 12, 2023 shows $2,492,414 budgeted for for the continuation of the program "Climate Centers (Cooling/Warming) Centers" (#16 on Page 5) in CD-14, approved by the LA City Mayor and LA City Council on June 23, 2023 for the new fiscal year, beginning July 1, 2023. Please back President Obama's diplomatic approach to Iran. Now is not the time to undermine negotiations with calls for increased sanctions or unrealistic demands for a final deal. Don't lead us down a path that could lead to another war in the Middle East.

Local police and federal authorities have proven unable- or unwilling- to protect Black communities from police violence and protesters from state repression and white backlash. In order to protect Black communities and protesters from the police and racists, Freedom, Inc. calls on the United Nations and Organization of American States to 1. launch an independent investigation into police violence against Black communities AND police repression of the democratic rights of protesters supporting Black rights; and 2. send international peacekeepers to protect Black communities and protesters from state violence, state repression and white supremacists. In addition, we call on white allies across the country to stand up and condemn white racist violence against protesters.
