Unilever: Stop silencing Ben & Jerry’s ice cream NOW!In September, Jerry made one of the hardest and most painful decisions he’s ever made: he stepped down from the company that we started 47 years ago. Why? Because Unilever, the company that acquired Ben & Jerry’s in 2000, now called The Magnum Ice Cream Company, has been silencing Ben & Jerry’s when the brand has tried to speak out about social injustices and progressive values. It’s unacceptable. It was always about more than just ice cream: Love, equity, justice—they’re part of who we are, and they’ve always been the true foundation of Ben & Jerry’s. We cannot let those values be simply discarded under political pressure from the Trump administration. Will you join us and sign my petition to demand that Unilever stop silencing Ben & Jerry’s ice cream NOW and be entered in a raffle to win a free pint of my sorbet?71,595 of 75,000 SignaturesCreated by Ben Cohen, co-founder of Ben & Jerry's

Stop BullyingStop the Pain is working to prevent bullying and suicide among teenagers. You can find more information about us and how you can stop bullying at our website: www.stopthepaincenter.org Bullying is a problem that affects millions of students of all races and classes. 1 out of 4 kids/teenagers are bullied and 42% of kids have been bullied while online. Child and teen bullying and Cyberbullying are at an all-time high. Some kids are so tormented that suicide has become an alternative for them. It has everyon worried. Not just the kids on its receiving end, but the parents and others who may not understand how extreme bullying can get. Bullying and Cyberbullying continue to harm kids physically, emotionally and the worst- it continues to take lives. Just ask the family and friends of Jamie Rodemeyer, Kameron Jacobsen, Amanda Diane Cummings, Alexis Pilkingtn (New York), Tyle Clementi (New Jersey), Asher Brown (Texas), Scott Walz (Illinois), Christian Taylor (Virginia), Suade Cooley, Phoebe Prince, and Carl Josephy Walker-Hoover (Massachusetts), Matt Epling and Alex Harrison (Michigan), Jesse Logan (Ohio), Justin Aaberg (minnesota), Celina Okwuone and Hope Witsell (Florida), Mega Meier (missouri), Ryan Halligan (Vermont) and ALL of the others who took their lives because they were tormented on a daily basis while at school or online. They might be here today if their schools had listened-if hei schools took action and a stand against all forms of bullying-including cyberbullying. They might be here today if they country had standardized legislation mandating schools to not only enforce a "No Tolerance" policy against bullying and cyberbullying-but get involved and help the students rather than sweeping it under the rug. New Jersey and Massachusetts passed landmark legislation which requires schools to institute anti-bullying curriculum, investigate acts of bullying and report the most serious cases to law enforcement officers. New Jersey passed the toughest anti-bullying legislation in the country. Yet, all the legislation in the world won't matter if our schools ignore this epidemic, as the majority of America's schools are sweeping this issue under the rug. They take no responsibility in keeping our children safe. We ask you to pass strict, unified and national legislation throughout the country mandating that our schools help and protect our children, and enforce 'no tolerance' policies and anti-bullying legislation (including cyberbullying) so that our children can be safe in school and online. We ask that every school across the country have at least one trained person in bullying prevention who a student can go to at any time if they are being harassed or feel they are in danger and get immediate assistance. The cost of bullying and cyberbullying to our society is great and so are its effects. If we don't STOMP Out all forms of bullying now, we will lose more children to suicide, create a society of kids with post traumatic syndrome, and kids so full of hatred and violence that they grow up to be workplace bullies, and worse -- with even a greater cost to business and society.80 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Hunter Tittle

Support Yellow Arahama (黃色手帕大作戰)Open Letter to Sendai city government in Japan, Dear Sendai city government We are professionals and scholars from the Pacific Rim community, including Taiwan, US, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Canada, etc. We believe community-based design and planning is the best and only way to better built environment for and of the people. Recently, we have been deeply concerned about the ongoing post-earthquake reconstruction in Japan, especially the case of Arahama in Sendai, Miyagi prefecture. We’ve learned that a wide range of communities were forced to relocate collectively due to their homeland being designated as disaster-zone neighborhood, an area of 700ha. Though we can understand that the relocation is arranged with concern for safety and efficiency, we strongly oppose this kind of forced-relocation regardless of local community’s will and complex needs. Plenty of previous reconstruction cases over the world have made it clear that what people need to survive and thrive as communities is much more than houses. Place matters in sustaining community network and human beings’ attachment with locality and spaces. A convenient removal of neighborhoods from bay area to high lands without the consent of the residents could become violence and cause serious aftermaths such as loss of jobs and industry, stress, suicides, disruptions of social relations, etc., if not paying attention to histories and geographies of community. Moreover, tremendous social capital can be lost and may be irreversible in the careless relocation process. We’ve learned that communities in Arahama are acting out to express their opposition to the government-led relocation. They are calling for a more caring plan that integrate community economy and rehousing with respect to Arahama community’s long-existing cultural practices and affections for ocean. We are deeply touched by their call and the "yellow handkerchief, " an evocative symbol used by Arahama community to flag an urgent signal to the world. In writing this letter, we want to express our support to the community. Please listen carefully to the people who are desperately longing for conversation and a community-based reconstruction to replace current top-down relocation. We respect all of your continuous efforts in reconstruction. However, it is more important to do things right rather than do things fast. We believe that by working with community Japan can present to the world again its tenacity and dignity. Sincerely, Pacific Rim Community Design Network1(環太平洋社區設計網絡) --- About Pacific Rim Community Design Network In countries and regions across the Pacific Rim, participatory community design has become an increasingly important component of the urban planning and design process. From advocacy planning and citizen participation developed in the United States, models of participatory community design now can also be found in Japan, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, specifically in forms of the Machizukuri Movement in Japan, Community Building Movement in Taiwan, and an emerging challenge to the top-down urban planning and redevelopment process in Hong Kong. The Pacific Rim Community Design Network was launched following a working conference at University of California, Berkeley in 1998. Titled "Coastal Echoes: Democratic Design in the Pacific Rim," the conference brought together leading community design scholars and practitioners from Japan, Taiwan and United States. The purpose of the conference was to provide the practitioners and scholars working in the field of participatory design and planning across the Pacific Rim region with an opportunity to share and compare each other's experiences and advance their practice and research. Through conferences and joint projects, the network has provided a vehicle for collaboration and mutual support, as well as a forum for comparative understanding of community design in the fast changing political and social context of the Pacific Rim. webpage: http://faculty.washington.edu/jhou/pacrim.htm79 of 100 SignaturesCreated by shu-mei huang

Trump of massive voter fraud(1) - Documented widespread voter suppression and insufficient access to polls(2) - The official investigation into the potential interference of FBI Director James Comey in the 2016 election(3) - The largest margin of popular vote vs electoral college in history(4) - The findings of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence regarding the interference of Russia into the elections(5) In the sincere interest of protecting the foundations of our democracy, and to avoid a constitutional crisis of immense proportions, we demand that the voice of the people be heard. Connecticut College: Retain Dr. Andrea BaldwinWe demand that the administration of Connecticut College: 1) Make a public apology to Dr. Andrea Baldwin through an email to all students, faculty, staff, and trustees 2) Make a clear outline of what is going to happen to Africana studies students during the next academic year (2018-2019) as to how students will be able to progress and/or finish their major/minor. As Dr. Andrea Baldwin will no longer be teaching at Connecticut College next year and a majority of the professors who have courses that fulfill requirements and/or electives in the degree are going on sabbatical next year, leaving only a few professors left to help students progress and/or finish their major/minor is insufficient for the Africana Studies Program to continue educating students. 3) Make a clear outline of the 5-year plan for making Africana studies into a department. This includes: 1) The number of tenured positions 2) The number of tenure-track positions 3) The number of non-tenure/tenure-track positions 4) A financial plan supporting the department 4) That SABs work directly under Dean of Faculty Abigail Van Slyck and who’s work directly connects to hiring, as this will make the hiring process far more democratic and gives students a more influential voice. 5) Offer Baldwin a secured tenure-track position once her three-year visiting professor term is up. 6) The resignation of Professor and chair of the Gender and Women's studies department: Danielle Egan, because she is the one who has made the decision to not keep Dr. Baldwin at Connecticut college and is a perfect example an opportunity hire being given to a white cisgender woman, rather than a woman of color.136 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Zaiden Sowle

More Parks For Miami NOWBeing a youth or adult resident of Miami, someone who works in Miami, or a person who owns property in the City of Miami, I realize; Miami ranks last of all high density cities in the entire US in park space per resident; that 4 of 5 Miami Commission districts severely lack parks; that parks add to the quality of life; that parks are proven to be economic generators; that to keep property taxes low, Florida Law provides that developers who add population, should pay for the capital costs of new parks if residents demand it from their elected leaders, instead of property taxes on all property and that Miami taxpayers own very valuable waterfront land and that if that land is to be leased or sold, it must deliver significant benefits for its resident / stockholders beyond lease fees and new taxes. Therefore, I petition Mayor Regalado or any new Mayor and the Miami Commission to take actions immediately to make it possible to collect higher one time Impact Fees on developers so park acreage is actually added to Miami so as to not further deteriorate our park acreage / population ratio as it has severely declined over the last several years; that Miami 21 be changed so parks are protected from being covered with buildings and parking lots. That the leasing or selling of any publicly owned land, especially water front land such as Coconut Grove, Watson Island and Virginia Key must produce substantial public benefit for Miami residents / taxpayers, beyond lease fees and new taxes. Specifically, 100 percent of lease fees or sales dollars or leveraged bond proceeds must be used exclusively for the creation of new parks until such time that there is a park within a ten minute walk of every Miami resident, per the Parks Master Plan. This requires 30 new neighborhood parks in the City of Miami.448 of 500 SignaturesCreated by Steve Hagen, Green Park Advocate

Governor Brown: Don't sign AB 2174This bill authorizes the sale of two parking lots adjacent to the Employment Development Department's (EDD) multipurpose center at 745 Franklin Street in San Francisco. This site serves several EDD branches including Unemployment Services, Disability Insurance, Workforce Services, and Employment Tax. The sale of these lots would cause immediate and long-term financial hardship on and compromise the safety of the hundreds of state employees who rely on them and who provide valuable and integral services to the citizens of the State of California.177 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Kristin Anderson

The area they use should be sanitized and floor moped before client arrives set rules that next client MUST wait outside until previous client has left and area sanitized and cleaned. Client must sign a waiver that they know the risk and do not hold stylist or salon liable and have only limited services performed and hours open. If any color service is done it must be applied and processed at home and washed at home so you are only in contact with stylist for a limited amount of time.
