Members of Congress should oppose any new funding for war in Iraq and Syria until Congress has debated and voted on an Authorization for the Use of Military Force [AUMF] and the Pentagon has explained why it needs more money on top of the massive budgets it already has.

We urge you to defend the public by opposing a big giveaway to Duke Energy and other utilities. The NC Utilities Commission recently ruled that utilities can continue to charge us for taxes they no longer have to pay. That is clearly unfair. The Public Staff was created to defend the public from excessive corporate greed. Please take action in court or in other ways to stop this unfair giveaway of our money.

Thus, we know this technology will work in U.S. deserts, in Southern Droughts, or cold and dark Northern States. Even better, these engineered greenhouses also sequestered all the CO2 the Shell Oil refinery produced in Pernis. We have a unique opportunity to clean up our environment, growing the food we currently import (18.6M metric tons), and create 518,000 sustainable jobs that pay between $11 and $50 per hour. With so many returning Afghan and Iraq veterans still needing sustainable careers...there could not be a better atmosphere for returning soldiers than working in greenhouse, full of flowering plants and pleasant music. The Boulder City Council should legalize electric bikes -with pedals- on all its multi-use paths and bike lanes. Simple speed limits, like motor vehicles have on roads, should be set, instead of the complicated and unfair current limits of 20 mph POTENTIAL speed (which any fit regular cyclist can exceed) and 400-watt motors which now apply in bike lanes. If the City is serious about reducing greenhouse gases, pollution and traffic, it should be PROMOTING ebikes instead of banning them on the paths and over-regulating them on the lanes.
