Election officials, stand with me in taking three key steps to ensure that every eligible voter can vote in the 2012 U.S. elections under the new, tightened regulations in many states: 1. Recruit poll workers early and training them to understand the new laws. 2. Publicize voter drives and eligibility requirements. 3. Reach out to to all voters, including those whose native language is not English.

I pledge to leave my car at home and use sustainable transport at least one day a week in 2012. By making this promise I will contribute to a healthier local environment, and help mitigate climate change that threatens the food security of people worldwide. I also call upon Governor Malloy to join me by supporting and funding sustainable transportation options.

In 2008 the Republicans realized that President Obama had awakened a sleeping giant of lethargic voters. They decided then that the only way to keep him from a second term is to claim "voter fraud" and suppress voters in some 30 states. It has been proven through there is no "voter fraud". Also they have really gone into the gutter with their racial innuendos and calls for proof of his birth certificate and college records from our President. This must stop. Let the Republicans know this tactic will not win elections.

Media for sale It's outrageous that mainstream media is not reporting on the filibuster of the Veteran's Jobs Corp bill. This is a perfect example of what is wrong with our corporate owned media. When did this happen? Our news stations have been bought up by corporate interests and they are distorting and filtering the news we get. Mainstream media is no longer obligated to report the news to America. They are being driven by ratings and profits or by political and corporate interests and exploiting freedom of the press. What's worse is they are no longer being held accountable for distortions and lies! Our news is being filtered by a corporate agenda and newscasters are no longer required to bring the facts to us in an unbiased fashion. We are getting opinions from personalities being paid big money to brainwash Americans who don't know the difference between an opinion piece and an actual news piece. This is undermining our democracy and causing a communications breakdown between the U.S. and the world. We must hold news stations and these so called news reporters responsible for distortions of the truth and we must keep our nation better informed. We must take news reporting privileges away from a corporate bias agenda and put it back into the hands of those who would report facts to America. American's need to know how their elected officials are voting. We need to know when our elected officials are taking bribes and who the lobbyist are that are corrupting our politicians. We need to know what is really happening in Washington and in the world news and we need the truth. We need the facts so that we are better informed and able to maintain a more perfect union. This is how we take our country back.

Right now thousands of New Yorkers are benefiting from solar power on their own property, but millions more face physical or financial barriers to accessing solar. It’s time to clear the way for all New Yorkers – including renters and low-income families – to go solar and save. Please work with the Public Service Commission to create a shared renewable energy program and empower more New Yorkers to participate directly in our growing solar economy.

I support creation of new Federal guidelines designed to reduce gerrymandering. The new guidelines should support rational - geographic or population based voting districts, instead of districts specifically designed by the winning political party just to keep incumbents in power.

We support The Adoptee Rights Bill, allowing New York State adoptees the same human rights as all other citizens of New York. Let them have their original birth certificates and medical histories and their identities back at age 18!

Senator Mike Lee should oppose the Menendez bill, which calls for new sanctions on Iran. U.S. intelligence agencies say that imposing new sanctions on Iran now would destroy U.S. diplomacy, putting the U.S. on a path towards war.
