Under current War Powers Act, politicians find very creative ways to keep their OWN families safely at home, while sending American working families children to war, during invasions: i.e.: George Walker Bush kept Jenna and her sistersafely at home, while sending America's daughters off, to fight HIS battles. I just wonder how fast Washington D.C. would rush to declare WAR, and invade other nations, if their OWN family members were to be required to enlist, and to be assigned to front-line, combat, units, involved in the first wave of attacks? I wonder how fast Mr. Bush would have been, to demand his invasions, if HIS daughters would have been required to service, in combat? I wonder if any politician would rush to WAR, as the Republicans did, if the cost, of this vote, would be that politicans own families would have to live with the same "terror" of that dreaded D.O.D. Would even Democrats rush to invade other nations, if they knew their decision might cost the lives of ALL members, of their own families, who have reached enlistment age? This is why I am suggesting a revision of the War Powers Act.

Ralph Nader's refusal to withdraw from the 2000 election gave us the disaster of George W. Bush. Notwithstanding Nader's assertions to the contrary, THERE WAS AND IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE between the candidates. Who can honestly dispute that if we had Al Gore as President in 2000, instead of George W. Bush, the environment would be in far better shape than it is today. The same is true with this election. We have Donald "Global Warming is a Hoax" Trump, vs. Hillary. For anyone who is truly concerned about the environment, any action (including Stein's remaining on the ballot) that increases the chances of a Trump Presidency is cutting off your nose to spite your face.

The officials of Prince George’s County - without warning or opportunity for public comment – have terminated a very successful first time homebuyer down payment program known as My Home I and My Home II. Since 2009, My Home enabled nearly 1,300 low and moderate income people achieve the dream of homeownership. Many of them have never owned a home before. Now, county officials have turned their backs on this very important segment of the Prince George’s community by defunding the program. By promoting homeownership My Home helped to stabilize communities and served to establish family wealth in real estate. Now this lifeline no longer exists for deserving families that have been impacted by the recession and the rising cost of houses. The Maryland Mortgage Program Triple Play has been offered as an alternative. But a careful examination of the two programs shows that they are not perfect substitutes. My Home offered from 20 to 60 thousand dollars in the form of a deferred loan throughout the county. The maximum Triple Play deferred loan is 10 thousand dollars. An additional 10 thousand dollar grant is only available in 14 zip codes hard hit by foreclosures. These are important differences given the rising cost of homes throughout Prince Georges County. We the undersigned are important business and consumer stakeholders in the Prince George’s community. It is our position that careful consideration should be made to reinstate both My Home and My Home II Down Payment Assistance Programs.
