The amendment would bar from SNAP (food stamps), for life, anyone who was ever convicted of one of a specified list of violent crimes at any time — even if they committed the crime decades ago in their youth and have served their sentence, paid their debt to society, and been a good citizen ever since. In addition, the amendment would mean lower SNAP benefits for their children and other family members. So, a young man who was convicted of a single crime at age 19 who then reforms and is now elderly, poor, and raising grandchildren would be thrown off SNAP, and his grandchildren’s benefits would be cut. Given incarceration patterns in the United States, the amendment would have a skewed racial impact. Poor elderly African Americans convicted of a single crime decades ago by segregated Southern juries would be among those hit. The amendment essentially says that rehabilitation doesn’t matter and violates basic norms of criminal justice.

Congress has in the past had deluxe health care at the taxpayers expense - along with their retirement packages - they need to leave the Health Care bill alone and not try to cancel it - if it is good enough for the rest of the country - it's good enough for Congress - Tweak it so it is good for everyone....including congress!

Euthanasia it should be a choice we could have for people like me. I don't want to be a berdon to society and would like to have some sort of honor in my departure from this world. i don't have any hate or animosty. I'm just tired and want to have some honor before I turn into burden to society. We should have a choice and not just humilation.

We, the undersigned, strongly request that Congress, in response to both its ineffectiveness and its inability to do the people's work in an effective and efficient way, give themselves a pay cut. Furthermore we demand that Congress give up its ability to arbitrarily give itself raises and place that power into the possession of the constituencies that each senator and representative represents thereby allowing we, the people, to determine if their on the job performance is such that a raise should be given to members of Congress.

Please create a new PAC, called "Normal, Reasonable Americans, The "Other" N.R.A.", to raise money to be used for advertisements against the corrupt, cowardly Senators who voted against Gun Control Legislation, because they are on the take from the N.R.A. and more concerned about their cushy Senate jobs than the fears and wishes of their constituents. If united citizens could defeat Citizens United in 2012, "our" N.R.A. can defeat "their" N.R.A. in 2014 and 2016.

Put career politicians on a pay for performance piece rate compensation plan. No budget- no pay for elected officials and their staffs. They should no longer enjoy the most bloated public welfare benefits without doing the job they were elected to perform.

In this time of economic uncertainty, the basic "Urgent Care" needs of those with "severe disability", physical and mental, are being neglected. Suffering and early death in those communities is increasing. Do you support more influential and active involvement of professionals and "consumers" involved to testify regarding the needs for those of us with "Severe Disability"?
