We are asking the Texas Legislature to take up and move forward H.B.no.4201. The State of Texas should amend and or supplement Property Code CHAPTER 26. USE OF A DECEASED INDIVIDUAL’S NAME, VOICE, SIGNATURE, PHOTOGRAPH, OR LIKENESS by prohibit the unauthorized use of an individual's right to publicity for commercial purposes and stop the reproduction of arrest booking photographs of both living and deceased individuals. Ban the LGBTQ+ “panic” defense (or gay/trans “panic” defense) in Utah

Washington State has one of the most regressive tax systems in the country. In order to fix our broken, upside-down tax system, we first need to educate the public about the facts. But neither Governor Inslee nor the state legislators are making significant effort towards educating the public about why we need progressive taxation. We ask Governor Inslee to appoint a high level commission to evaluate our regressive tax system and propose changes that would allow the state to adequately fund education, social services and other essential needs. The commission should hold hearings throughout the state, solicit input from the public, and publicize its findings widely. We also call on Governor Inslee and the Democratic leadership to make speeches, publish essays, and hold public forums for discussion of this central issue.

America has lost it's way within a mire of greed and 'getting the milk for free' mentality. Where once Corporate America provided pensions, raises, security, loyalty and respect toward its employees, more recent times have witnessed Corporate America taking advantage of exempt employees, by not providing time off, over working its labor force and unreasonably taking up individuals personal time. This serious issue has cost families time with loved ones, created in part a healthcare crisis, shortens our life, creates a more stressful life and goes entirely against what America has espoused with our founding fathers declaration of rights to the preservation of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness which is ostensibly protected. Our founding fathers would turn over in their graves and run to Europe for some much needed time off! Corporate America should be held accountable to respect and honor the unalienable rights we all have to a true work life balance with an average work week not being more than 40 hours. There should be penalties for non compliance. We should all re-balance so that we work to live rather than live to work! We teach others daily what is acceptable treatment by what we allow. En masse, all of us worker bees must embrace and take up our own power and cease giving our personal time away. This would be any work day beyond 6-8 hours or workweeks that do not average out to a 40 hour work week over a 12 month period. When we all begin to police this, there will be no stopping this wave of change! However many years you have to live, let it be in balance with enjoying what you do for a living and your personal pursuits which bring joy to life. Don't allow an unfeeling greedy corporate entity to watch over your best interest, it is incapable of that. It is incumbent upon you to manage yourself and call it when enough is enough!

We the undersigned, petition you to release Nancy Ezell (#54991). We wonder why this woman is still incarcerated. She is elderly and infirm and no danger to anyone. Also, because prisoners cannot get Medicare, her health care is costing taxpayers in excess of 100 thousand dollars a year. How are you making us safer by wasting our dollars like this? Nancy Ezell was Born 1952 and is now 63. She was convicted in 1998 of drug possession “with intent to manufacture, distribute or deliver. (961.41.)” She has had multiple major heart surgeries, has type 2 diabetes and is on oxygen. She is in need of a hip replacement and has much pain. Nancy is now housed in unit with mentally ill prisoners where windows cannot be opened and feels she is near suffocating. She came from housing for younger people, where the noise and pace of the place were stressful and dangerous. To her requests to be moved, she is told there is no room anywhere else. This prison is severely overcrowded. Statistics show that the crime rate drops dramatically (from 12 percent to 6 percent) for people over 30. After 55 it drops to near zero. This would be enough to tell us that Nancy is not dangerous but the fact that she carries around oxygen wherever she goes makes this certain. Another factor is that she is in prison for a non violent drug crime and was sentenced when the WAR ON DRUGS was at its highest pitch. Then Excessive sentences for non violent crimes were the norm. She also has children who would love to have her home and who would care for her. But the enormous cost of keeping Nancy in is not the most important consideration. The prison cannot house someone as sick and frail as Nancy humanely. Prisons were built for the healthy. She is very stressed with the noise and commotion and lack of nurturing has taken its toll. Again studies tell us that prisoners age much quicker than non prisoners- Some studies name 50 , some 55 as “old”. Nancy is old and frail and needs to be home with her loved ones.

April 16, 2011 Herein lies the problem. Asking for a fee to debate a bill you've authored while the Tennessee Senate is in session is an ethics violation. In late August I received an email from Victor Domen, Jr., Senior Counsel, Tennessee Attorney General's Office who informed me that an ethics complaint has been filed with the Tennessee Attorney General's Office against Campfield. I shared all my facebook and email exchanges with Domen, proving the allegations were true, and a formal investigation was launched. According to Domen (as of 1/29/12) the investigation is ongoing and has not been dropped - "I'm still working on it--you know how slow and deliberate we can be." The case is clear! Stacey Campfield violated a statute within the jurisdiction of the State Ethics Commission. After five months, it is time that Tennessee Attorney General's Office make that determination so The State Ethics Commission can file formal charges against Campfield. Given this man's recent ignorant lies and statements about homosexuality and the spreading of HIV, spewing more hatred towards homosexuals, it is time to expose this homophobic bully so justice can be served. "You just pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election. The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in 1971...before computers, e-mail, cell phones, etc. Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took 1 year or less to become the law of the land...all because of public pressure. *Congressional Reform Act of 2011* 1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office. 2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose. 3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do. 4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%. 5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people. 6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people. 7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/12. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work. Are you frustrated by lending your hard earned savings to banks that give you an average of one tenth of one percent for the dubious privilege so they can turn around and lend your money to credit card holders and charge those people (which may include you) 14 to 25 % interest with extra unseen charges to boot? Are you interesting in bringing back income to expand our middle class, provide much needed income for our seniors so that they don’t have to draw down their principal or invest in a very risky stock market and encourage young people to once again save their working dollars for the future? If you can relate to any of this, urge Congress to institute an across the board savings rate that banks have to pay their savings investors, FDIC insured, with a downward cap of no less than 4%. Stop bankers from stealing your money to invest in very risky vehicles in a Win or go Bust strategy that has gutted our economy, ruined our middle class and eroded our trust in the banking industry. Remember that we have all invested in this reckless, irresponsible, roulette wheel type of bank speculation by giving our money to banks and not demanding something for it. Large profits are accumulated for bank CEOS and their board of directors when banks “hit it big” on wall street and huge losses are shared with us when it goes wrong and we are the very people providing the dollars for this activity. The collapse of the real estate market, the artificial reduction in interest rates instituted by the Federal Reserve and the loss of jobs and life savings is all a direct result of Banks thinking that using our money at little or no cost to them is their right. And Banks depend on us not demanding more but being intimidated by their practices of charging high fees for checking accounts and coming after credit card holders like loan sharks when they are late on payments. And they are not lending any of this money to small businesses or homeowners without great difficulty and cost to those entities. If Congress institutes a savings account interest of no less that 4%, it will send a message to Banks that they are using OUR money and we want something for it. Free money for Banks to use in a Casino type way is very bad for our economy and the American People. Tell Congress not to link it to the Prime Rate anymore. Savings accounts are a separate privilege that banks enjoy and presently, at our great expense. Let’s even the spread between what they take in through us- the investors and what they pay out, to strengthen our people and our economy.
